What is Bradford City Challenge Foundation Ltd?

The Foundation is the successor body to Bradford City Challenge which was set up to manage Bradford’s successful bid for government funding to regenerate the South East sector of Bradford. Government funding ceased in March 1997, but the Foundation has some annual income available for community projects each year.

Our Board of Directors & Trustees

There are a minimum 7 members of which B.M.D.C. nominate 2, Bradford Breakthrough nominate 1 and the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce also nominate 1; other members are co-opted.

All members of the board give their services free, only the secretary is paid.

Our area of operation

Bradford City Challenge Foundation works within a carefully defined geographic area, which is an area bounded:

  • In the North by Hall Ings
  • In the West by Manchester Road (A641), Mayo Avenue and M606
  • In the South from where the City boundary crosses M606 to include Lower Woodlands, Toftshaw, Holmewood & Tyersal to the Thornbury roundabout
  • In the East by Leeds Road (A647) back down to Hall Ings
  • This area includes some of BD3, all of BD4 and some of BD5
