Royal Voluntary Service
RVS Bradford operates the Good Neighbours project, which supports older people who are isolated. It has one full time member of staff and approximately 50 volunteers.
The project provides companionship, practical help such as shopping and transport and activities like Darby and Joan Clubs.
It aims to re-engage isolated older people within the community by introducing them to clubs and activities provided by other local organisations.
There are a range of activities undertaken including an Arts & Crafts session and Chair Exercise sessions attended by a total of 30 elderly people.
How Bradford City Challenge Foundation has helped
The funding pays for a professional Chair Exercise tutor to take two regular sessions and has been used to fund a "celebration of volunteers" event to show appreciation for their essential contribution.
