One In A Million
A charity working with disadvantaged children and young people through sports, arts and enterprise. There are 6 full time and 8 part time workers, with an additional 28 volunteers.
They use formal and informal education to break cycles of deprivation over young lives, valuing and celebrating their uniqueness, and letting them know they are "one in a million".
There are 3 main services:-
- Community hubs aimed at the 6-16 age range, with 25-50 attending
- Streetwise project, engaging 400 11-18 year olds
- Athletics development for children aged 6-18, with an average of 15 attendees pre week.
How Bradford City Challenge Foundation has helped
funding has helped with the engagement of young people in the Bierley area, mainly through the Life Centre situated in the area.
